The "Institution of the Head of State" Research Group
The research group on the institution of the head of state has been working since 2012 in cooperation between the Department of Constitutional Law (Lóránt Csink) and the Department of Legal History (István Szabó). Every year, we organise a professional conference to which we invite the most important Hungarian researchers working on the topic. In the more than two decades since the change of regime, the role of the President of the Republic in state power has been the subject of intense legal and political debates. The aim of the research group is to provide solutions for the interpretation of the domestic legal status of the President of the Republic by analysing the domestic and international development of the institution of the head of state.
